SERMON SERIES

We believe transformational preaching should be biblically rich, Spirit-empowered, culturally engaging and authentic…

  • This is a series on God’s design for sex, marriage, and celibacy - to give a hopeful vision to a confused and disillusioned generation for a better way to find relational fulfilment and happiness.

In order to do that, we seek to offer two things from Scripture:

    1. Truth - clear teaching grounded in God’s word - making things black and for our people to live faithfully in a grey world.

    2. Wisdom - this is grounded in timeless human experience, and applied to our context/circumstances.

In this series, each sermon attempts to set out the Biblical teaching on the subject as unambiguously as possible, expositing from a particular topical text.

We will then turn to the book in the Bible dedicated to wisdom for relational, marital, and sexual fulfilment: the Song of Songs.

  • Jesus’ words to his disciples in John 15 use the imagery of cultivating a vineyard to describe that the way to joy is to remain (abide) in him. We remain in him by cultivating habits that draw us closer to God - historically known as spiritual disciplines. The word “discipline” may conjure ideas of stifling religious formality, but as Richard Foster says, “joy is the keynote of all the (spiritual) disciplines” - they are practices to reap the joy of relationship with God. They are not works to earn anything from God, they are a means to receive from God!

Put another way - habits/disciplines are the bridge from the grace we already have to the joy we can yet have in that grace.

This series aims to help you to teach your people not only what the disciplines are, but how to cultivate them too.

  • In his letter, James challenges believers to demonstrate their faith through practical expressions of love, and obedience to God's commands. He uses examples such as caring for the needy and showing impartiality to emphasise the importance of works as evidence of authentic faith.

This series based on James' teaching will challenge your people to test and grow the genuineness of their faith, expressed by their works, and teach some practical examples of how true religion is evidenced in the life of a believer.

Ultimately this is a series on Lordship - how our professed faith in God is manifested in our lives.

  • This is a series focused on apologetics, specifically angled to address the “cultural sea” we are swimming in and to help us reclaim intellectual ground and the baseline for truth.

We believe that Christianity offers a comprehensive framework for truth, origins, morality, meaning, and spirituality. This series aims to unpack these various reasons for faith - to strengthen the believer and persuade the unbeliever.

  • Love is the mark of a true disciple, the heart of holiness, and the pattern of a true believer. Without love, we have nothing, so we don’t just want to love in name only, but in action too.

This series sets a vision for unity in the church, calls us to keep this new command Jesus gave us to love one another high, teaches us what that looks like in practice, and offers some practical skills to help us navigate the obstacles to loving one another.

  • Jesus was born to be the saviour of ALL nations. The Bible, and especially the gospel story, is about God’s love for the whole world, his action to save and bless all peoples, his choosing of people so that “in you all the nations of the earth will be blessed” and his call to “go and make disciples of all nations”.

As an Every Nation church we have great diversity to celebrate - in our cultural, family, and feasting Christmas traditions. And we also have the opportunity to prophetically demonstrate and proclaim what Jesus has done to bring great unity - (the unity of harmony not conformity) in the midst of this diversity.

In a world where we see an ever-increasing fracturing and polarisation or people among many lines which divide us (race, gender, generations, politics, socio-economic etc.) Christmas gives us the opportunity to look to Jesus - born as the Jewish Messiah but promised to be the saviour for all.

  • This is an engaging series on the timeless relevance of God’s truth for human flourishing - particularly in the area of mental health, which is a huge area of need and concern for this generation.

The aim of this series is to present the life-transforming power of relationship with God very practically and winsomely, showing that the Scriptures are sufficient for ALL of life, and that it is not just dead religion but experientially powerful too.

Each session selects a topical mental health challenge, highlights what is missing from the world’s solutions and shows the opportunities which the Christian faith offers to find peace and hope. Each topic is grounded in a biblical character who experienced the particular mental health challenge, and how they encountered God through it.

  • The goal of this series is to expose the broken wisdom of the world and to envision, equip and empower people to walk in the way of God’s wisdom - drawn from the book of Proverbs - so that they may experience life the way he designed it to work.

We live in an age of information that is abundant, truth that is determined by celebrity or popularity, and wisdom that is shaped by popular culture. The truth doesn’t change, God doesn’t change, and the way he designed life to work doesn’t change.

In this series we turn to the Book of Proverbs - one of the primary books of wisdom literature in the Bible - to discover God’s wisdom on how life works: to understand it; come to love , value and surrender to it; and to practise it in our daily lives.
